GDS INTEGRATION

Introduction

gdsGate Web Services provides access to the functionality of the major Global Distribution Systems (GDS) in the form of web services. Each web service has a set of web methods that makes the sale of travel (air, car, hotel and cruises) easier and more flexible.

Web services are accessible through the internet and you, as a customer, can integrate the GDS functionality with your own applications and databases. It is an ideal solution for companies that do not have the GDS cryptic format expertise and want to build a travel web site application adapted to their needs.

The web services are based on Open Travel Alliance (OTA) standard XML for the travel industry.

Currently we provide connections to Amadeus, Galileo/Apollo, Sabre and Worldspan. Connections to other travel providers are under development.

Key benefits

  • Reduces development costs by up to 70%

  • Facilitates development process

  • Provides a single point of access to the major GDS systems

  • Increases development speed by using internet and travel industry standards

Features

With the growth of the internet and the arrival of new technologies companies can now benefit from an easier and more affordable way of building travel related web applications. gdsGate Web Services also delivers a simplified access to the travel distribution channels with the flexibility to integrate to your own applications. Your company will additionally gain a competitive edge from timely, speed to market products.

With gdsGate Web Services, our customers can do all of this. It really becomes easy to build travel web sites that satisfy your own requirements. All that is needed is an internet connection and standard development tools.

The reason for this simplified approach is that gdsGate Web Services are based on the travel standard developed by the Open Travel Alliance and generic web services technologies supported by IBM, Microsoft and Sun. These standards and technologies allow different systems to communicate with each other using one single interface and eliminate the cumbersome screen scraping and the translation of GDS proprietary messages.

As such, gdsGate Web Services provide an interface to the developers who do not need to understand the complexities of GDS system formats. Our customers can access all the functionality needed to sell travel (air, car, hotel, cruise). It is all achieved through the internet, saving them time and money.
